I'm Old School, but with Updated Software

--- I'm Old School, but with Updated Software
It's incredible to think that not more than 20 years ago, I needed an entire analog system to edit and post-produce videos. Of course, filming too, as well as recording voiceovers. And there's no doubt that the introduction of Android-style cell phones has transformed a whole range of fields within the social communication profession. Some colleagues have managed to hop on the train and update themselves digitally, right? But what about those who chose not to pay attention to the changes happening right in front of them—literally in their hands with an Android phone? It's amazing how a small device, no more than 7 inches high and 3 inches wide, has transformed the communication profession. I say I'm old school with updated software because I lived through a beautiful era where we could listen to the radio all day, enjoy music, use cassette tapes, record songs, and take photos with our phones. But it was the whole experience of photography and how expensive it was to develop them. It was a time when things were costly to do, but when done right, the satisfaction of having everything in place filled us with pride. Now, seeing how easy, practical, fast, and instant everything is, forces us to reflect on something important. Those from the old school who didn’t update themselves are destined to have a limited professional life. How do they cope? In my case, I decided to dive into digital production as a digital content creator. It all started with a page called "Mi Boquete Positivo," which has grown incredibly on Instagram in just 12 months to over 47,000 followers. It’s gaining more international attention than here in Panama. This has forced me to find allies, and one of those allies is the digital age. I jumped into editing material with CADCUT and found it simple, easy, and practical. I don’t know if God blessed me with a few extra neurons—because I’m quite scatterbrained and terrible at math—but when it comes to updating myself in editing systems, it’s just so easy, practical, and quick for me that I decided to immerse myself completely in this field. I haven’t had the means to pursue a master’s degree in community management, but as proof of what I’m capable of, here I am transcribing my thoughts through AI using ChatGPT. ChatGPT transcribes and adjusts a few items for me, but it keeps the essence of almost everything I’m saying. And the best part is, it can translate it into English as well. Wow! Sometimes it’s a bit scary to see how much technology has advanced, yet I still don’t speak English as fluently as I should. I’m so familiar with technology, but English still feels like a hurdle. Getting back to the point of being old school with updated software—that’s what I put on my résumé today. Big changes are coming where I work at the Caja de Seguro Social, and I have a very important meeting on Thursday, September 19th. Well, those who enjoy their work usually do well, and those who boarded the technological train seem to be doing very well too. But sometimes I wonder: What happened to those who decided to only use their phones for TikTok and entertainment? I can't criticize it; it's their lifestyle. I can’t judge, and I won’t reprimand them. But if there were a way for me to teach them, and they were good students, I’d gladly do it. Today's blog post has been more reflective—a part of myself that I really like. At 52 years old, I consider myself a lucky woman to have such wonderful technology that makes my life so much easier. This was today's topic, in which I developed several ideas in less than 25 minutes. Thank you. --- #DigitalEra #TechAndCommunication #OldSchoolUpdatedSoftware #ContentCreator #DigitalTransformation #Innovation #EmbraceChange #MyPositiveBoquete #DigitalGrowth #TechRevolution
